Rosa: A New Mexican Restaurant Coming to Virginia-Highland

A new Mexican restaurant named Rosa is set to open in Atlanta's Virginia-Highland neighborhood, occupying the former DBA Barbecue space at 1190 North Highland Avenue.

Rosa aims to be a "neighborhood Mexican spot," with plans to open in early 2025. The restaurant has applied for a liquor license, proposing operating hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and extending to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The 5,200-square-foot venue is expected to accommodate 125 guests.

DBA Barbecue, the previous occupant, closed its doors in February 2024 after a 15-year tenure. Owner Matt Coggin chose not to renew the lease, opting to concentrate on the restaurant's fast-casual ventures and expanding its catering services.

The Virginia-Highland area is known for its vibrant dining scene, and the addition of Rosa is anticipated to enhance the neighborhood's culinary offerings.

As the opening date approaches, more details about Rosa's menu and offerings are expected to emerge.

For those interested in the evolving dining landscape of Virginia-Highland, the arrival of Rosa signifies a fresh addition to the community's array of restaurants.
